Arts Administration Internship


Company Profile: Jessie Jeanne & Dancers is group of dance artists whose mission is to develop dance works in close collaboration with artists from a range of fields. The ‘collective’ environment is an important element to the creative process of this group. Our process is a laboratory for experimentation in choreographic research and design investigation. We believe this model of working practice not only empowers each artist involved but also propels the work forward into territories not previously explored.


Job Description: Jessie Jeanne & Dancers seeks candidates interested in learning about Dance Administration. Participants will get a broad view of the overall workings of the company through involvement with various special projects and events. Interns will gain in-depth experience and learn how various administrative tasks work together to achieve the organization’s goals. Interns will also gain nonprofit administrative experience which can include: basic budgeting, project management, events management, self-producing, grassroots touring, marketing, social media, fundraising, and grant writing. 


Specific internship topics will be identified upon a successful application and interview.


Overall Qualifications:

  • Superb attention to detail and time management skills

  • Responsible, reliable, and efficient

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English)

  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and general internet proficiency

  • Background in dance, music, theater, or performing arts is preferred
